Those looking for a simple, elegant, and well-constructed minimalist backpack that they’ll be able to wear comfortably while walking or hiking – out in the woods or along city streets – are going to want to look closely at the Timbuk2 Walker Pack.
Review Of The Timbuk2 Walker Pack
By no stretch of the imagination is this backpack ever going to be considered oversized. The Timbuk2 Walker (see good deal) is very much a minimalist kind of backpack, with a relatively small footprint (measuring just 20 inches high by 14 inches wide), but that doesn’t mean that you are going to be sacrificing any storage or carrying space.
Specifically designed for those that need a solution that allows them to carry anything and everything they’d like to bring with them while out walking (in the great outdoors or out at the mall), this is a bag that will impress not only on its first impression but also when people load it up to full capacity.
Manufactured out of imported fabrics and canvas that give this bag a very heavy duty feel without adding any extra weight to the mixture, this is a bag that feels premium and actually IS premium.
The waxed canvas is going to work to keep out almost everything that Mother Nature is going to try and throw at you, and the heavy duty and rugged zippers are also going to give you an extra layer of security and protection that you wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.
Organization on this bag is pretty straightforward. There are multiple pockets (on the exterior of the bag as well as throughout the interior), and storage space isn’t going to be sparse. Sure, it’s a little bit of a smaller backpack, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to be able to load it down with all of your walking supplies or everything that you’ve purchased while out shopping.
The 15-inch shoulder drop makes this bag almost infinitely adjustable for nearly every body type. The straps are very comfortable (and heavily padded), and the design of the straps will provide a line of extra support up top when the bag is fully loaded. Weight is definitely going to be evenly distributed across both shoulders and throughout your back and core.
Pros and Cons
You aren’t going to be able to find too many “grown-up” messenger bags that look like this one. The design is simple, straightforward, and classic, but the construction materials are advanced and offer a very modern kind of look.
Combine that with the extra storage space and organization that you’ll be able to enjoy, and you’re looking at something special here.
Of course, a backpack this special is going to command a somewhat premium price tag. Not everyone is going to be able to dig into their budget and pay top dollar for this bag – though few would argue that it isn’t worth the price that they are asking
The Timbuk2 Walker Pack is as impressive a backpack as you’re going to find. Manufactured of rugged when asked canvas (for a look that is very much “in” today, but a look that will remain timeless for years and years to come), the storage space and organization that this bag offers is top-notch as well. Definitely a recommended purchase.
